Why it’s better to buy a JDM engine than a rebuilt engine.

If you're in the market for a replacement engine, you have a few options available to you. Two of the most popular options are buying a rebuilt engine or purchasing a used low-mileage engine from Japan.

One of the main reasons to consider a JDM engine is the cost. These engines are often much cheaper than rebuilt engines, which can be prohibitively expensive for many people. You can save a significant amount of money by purchasing a used engine, which makes this an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.

Another advantage of a used engine from Japan is the quality. Most of these engines are low mileage at around 50k miles, which means they have plenty of life left in them. In contrast, a rebuilt engine hasn’t gone through its break-in period, and is often pieced together with parts from multiple sources. Rebuilt engines can be reliable if they're rebuilt properly, but a quality rebuild is expensive and many rebuilders prioritize quantity over quality which results in a 20-30% return rate and leaves the customer out time and money on their install. Compare that with Foreign Engines where we have a less than 5% return rate for our JDM engines, and offer an optional “labor warranty” to help cover install costs if you do happen to get a bad engine.

When you buy a used Japanese engine, you're getting a high-quality, low-mileage engine that has been inspected and tested in Japan to ensure its reliability. These engines have generally been well-maintained, and their low mileage means that they haven't been subjected to the wear and tear that can happen over time.

Another advantage of a used engine from Japan is that you can find engines for a wide variety of makes and models, including many that are difficult to find in the United States. This means that you can find an engine that fits your specific needs, without having to compromise on quality or reliability.

Buying a used low-mileage engine from Japan can be a great choice for those in need of an inexpensive replacement engine. While rebuilt engines have their place, a used JDM engine is often the better choice due to its lower cost, high quality, and reliability.
