Condition : This is a low mileage used import engine and transmission from Japan. Many of the external metal brackets, nuts and bolts are rusty. The engine internals are pretty clean as well as the oil and transmission fluid. The wiring harness is cut, but the plugs are included with the ECU. Please do your research and review the photos thoroughly before making a purchase.
Note : This engine does not directly fit any vehicles produced for the U.S. market. It was imported from a JDM vehicle and modifications may be required for installation. We make no guarantees of fitment.

What's the deal with Japanese import engines?
"JDM" stands for Japanese Domestic Market. These engines were used in Japan before they
were exported to the U.S. The average Japanese driver drives their car 50,000 miles before
turning their vehicle in.

Why only 50,000 miles?
Each car must pass the "Shaken" test. The first test is administered for passenger vehicles
at year 3 and every 2 years after. The car must pass on many different levels : exterior,
speedometer, headlights, exhaust and emissions, suspension and interior. Anything not
meeting the required standard must be repaired. When the cost of repairs outweighs the
value of the car it is exported or recycled. Foreign Engines imports the recycled engines.
